Managing Director of Gould Publication Papers
Starting his career at Express Newspapers in the advertising department, Dom spent 5 years there before being persuaded to join Salehurst Paper in 1993
In 2004 Salehurst became part of the Gould Paper Corporation and was merged with P3 paper when he took on the role of Sales Director for the two companies, since renamed Gould Publication Papers UK.
Dom's experience is predominantly with catalogue and mail order companies as well as magazine publishers in the UK, Europe and N.America, advising on and providing cost effective printing paper solutions. When not at work or entertaining his children Dom is a fair weather tennis player and an improving cook. He does not spend as much time as Darren at the gym.
Managing Director (Group Operations)
Darren has worked in the Publishing Paper business for 20 years now, the last 10 at Gould. Originally from an Ad Sales background for a publisher in Oxford, and before that schooled in Cheltenham and the Middle East (Abu Dhabi).
Now his role oversees the Operational side
of the business coordinating both of the external and internal teams. Out
of work he is a keen water-skier competing for his local club, and is
known to spend far too many hours in the gym.
Customers Services & Marketing Director
Mandy has been in the print and paper industry for in excess of 25 years, working for Printers, Paper Mills and Brokers. Mandy joined Gould in 2005 as The Sales & Marketing Manager, and now is a Director, taking care of Gould’s marketing requirements and managing sales within all publishing sectors. Mandy enjoys walking her dogs, Meg and Scooby in Hampshire, were she lives with her husband Matt and daughter Leah.
Matt has a degree in French Language and Literature from Liverpool University and somehow ended up in the paper industry. 12 years on and he is now a Director focusing on sales in the Travel and Publishing sector. His first love is Liverpool FC, and he is still ready and waiting for the call up to help take his team back to the summit of English football.
International Sales Manager
Jack, also known as hairy so call him what you choose. Jack’s first job was in the freight forwarding industry, specialising in global events for medical companies. After two years Jack felt it was time to move on, and in September 2008 joined Gould. Jack has found his niche in supplying paper to the publishing market. Outside of work Jack enjoys playing golf.
Sales and Technical Executive
Stephen has worked in Print and Paper for over 18 years, initially starting at Hunterprint/Quebecor UK. His last 18 months at Quebecor were spent in the role of Paper & Purchasing manager. For the last 4 years Stephen has been working at Gould as a Sales Executive bringing with him extensive technical knowledge in both print and paper. Stephen specialises in the Uncoated Mechanical market using the knowledge gained at Quebecor
Outside of work Stephen is a very keen cricketer, and loves the banter he gets on a Monday morning following a bad score at the weekend. However on a rare occasion there is a good day, when he can’t wait to bore everyone by taking them through it run by run!
Ken has worked in the paper trade for over 20 years, gradually declining from his debut on a clamp truck at St Ives to his current position of Office Manager.
His biggest achievement in this time is meeting his wife, leading to a lifetime of dinners discussing the smell of sheet fed printed magazines!
He is a follower of the Super Hoops (QPR) and this has proved even more stressful than the paper world.
Assistant Office Manager
With a family steeped in Paper and Print history the logical step when Tom left school was to go to Uni and then become something really interesting like a journalist or criminal pathologist. 12 years after making his debut in the industry and being a journeyman, predominantly moving between stockists and converters he settled at Gould in April 2009.
Tom’s primary role is assistant office manager, Tom also manages the day to day requirements of several key publishing accounts. His likes are lunch, real ale and meat pies. His sole aim in life at the moment is to start growing his own vegetables
Senior Account Manager
Bea has been working within the paper industry for in excess of 15 years. Initially for a US mill group, and subsequently with Gould for 11 years as a senior account executive, looking after magazine and catalogue publishers.
Bea enjoys returning regularly to her family home in Barcelona, with her husband David, and their boys, Ian and Alex.
In 2003 a crack commando was sent to the dummy making room for a crime he didn’t commit. This man promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Gould underground. Today, still wanted to produce dummies, he survives as a soldier of fortune.
Richard also works as part of the internal team, looking after the travel sector publishers on a day to day basis. If you have a paper enquiry, if no one else can help, and if you can dial 01372 385 107, maybe you could hire Richard Macey.
After stumbling out of the University of Exeter with an MA in English Studies, an expanding waist-line and a severe hangover, Tom Patrick took his first step into the world of marketing and advertising.
After 4 eventful years including working at an estate agency, advertising company and a very short time as a poker player, he found himself temping for Gould Publication Papers.
Two years after his introduction to the world of paper he continues to be fascinated by grammages, reel sizes and deckles, and other than a film review website (www.thatfilmguy.co.uk), the white papery stuff has become his life.
Adrian has worked in the Publishing Paper business for 15 years now, 9 of these with Gould. After leaving his college education behind, the bright lights of paper beckoned and he joined the industry and has not looked back. Adrian oversees accounts on an internal basis and ensures that the customer gets what they want and when they want it, within reason!
Adrian enjoys walks on the beach, films, good food along with nights in front of the fire.
Jan (or Nana as she is called by her colleagues) joined Gould in 2008. Jan is responsible for processing of invoices and administration for team GPP.
Jan is always in good spirits, and her rather loud laugh can be heard from some distance… Jan loves to Line Dance and attends regular Line Dancing trips to Eastbourne where she has been seen in some rather strange fancy dress outfits…
I have been in the wonderful world of print and paper for the past 20 years (I obviously started as a mere child!). I love the smell of ink and can tell the way a magazine is printed by it's smell (Yes I'm the odd one who sniffs magazines!).
I have worked at a Printers, Mill agents and Paper Management company.
I have 3 wonderful children who manage to easily fill every moment that I am not working.
Roy has been working in the paper industry for in excess of 30 years. Before joining Gould in 2010 Roy worked as a paper maker, and for various paper merchants.
To relax, Roy takes to his motorcycle, and can be seen regularly on the roads in and around Dover. Roy also enjoys a weekly fix of martial arts.
